How geofenced check-in works
In StaffSuite Admin, an admin sets a check-in radius around the office. When an employee checks in on StaffSuite Go, the app captures the phone's location together with the check-in time.
Each check-in and check-out is validated with GPS against the radius you configured. The distance is then checked again on the server against the company coordinates, so the decision does not rest on the phone alone.
Checking in uses a slide-to-act control instead of a single tap. The employee swipes to confirm, which stops attendance from being marked by accident.
Stopping proxy and fake check-ins
StaffSuite guards against two kinds of false check-in:
- Device approval: admins approve the phone each employee uses, so nobody can check in on a colleague's behalf from another handset.
- Mock location blocking: StaffSuite Go detects mock GPS apps and blocks them, so a spoofed position cannot be used to check in.
Together with the server-side distance check, these make up the anti-spoofing protection in StaffSuite.
Work from home without false rejections
A geofence suits the office, but it gets in the way when someone has been cleared to work from home. StaffSuite handles this with WFH requests: the employee asks for a work-from-home day in StaffSuite Go, an admin approves it in StaffSuite Admin, and on that approved day the location check is bypassed.
Admins can track WFH days for remote and hybrid staff next to regular attendance.
What admins see in StaffSuite Admin
Every check-in feeds the StaffSuite Admin dashboard. For the current day, admins can see:
- who is present, absent or late
- who is on leave or working from home
- the check-in and check-out time of each staff member
Older records can be searched and filtered by date, by name or by employee ID. A monthly attendance report can be downloaded as a PDF to share or print, and push notifications flag attendance alerts.
What employees see in StaffSuite Go
Employees can follow their own record too. StaffSuite Go shows a monthly attendance calendar in which each day is marked present, absent, late or WFH, along with weekends and the company holiday calendar. Employees can also generate a PDF attendance report on their own device whenever they need one.
When the connection drops
Both apps cache data on the phone. If the network drops, a connectivity banner tells the user they are offline, cached screens stay available, and data syncs again once the phone reconnects.
Secure sign-in
Both apps use token-based login. Sessions run on JWT access and refresh tokens, and a session guard protects signed-in screens.
Access is role-based, so employees and admins see different things. An owner can invite more admins and revoke their access at any time. For how employee data is handled, read the policy below.
